Our final recommendations for South East

We provided the Government with our final recommendations for new constituency boundaries on 5 September 2018.

The Government laid our recommendations in Parliament for consideration on 10 September 2018. You can find out about our final recommendations in our report. On the map below you can also view the final recommendations and all the responses we have received throughout the review.

We received over 35,000 representations during the review and are grateful to all those that participated.

Final recommendations - our final set of formal proposals published by BCE for new Parliamentary constituencies

 

Local authorities - councillors are elected to a local authority. This layer includes districts, boroughs, and unitary authorities

What do you need to know?

  • We began a review of Parliamentary constituencies in 2016 and reported our recommendations to Government in September 2018
  • The number of constituencies in the South East region must reduce from 84 to 83
  • By law, every constituency we propose must contain between 71,031 and 78,507 electors
  • We largely use local government wards as the building blocks for proposed constituencies
  • We try to retain existing constituencies where possible
  • We try to have regard to geographic factors
